How to do a factory calibration (only if Ampler asks you to!)

Read the following first:

The factory calibration can only be activated by our customer service and is then available via the app. For older models with previous firmware, it can still be activated via the button – if this is the case, we advise you to update your firmware to the latest version. Download the Ampler app and follow the instructions in the app.

With the factory calibration, all sensors of your e-bike are adjusted and the functionality of all electronic components is synchronised with each other. It is not intended as a regular maintenance procedure and also resets the motor settings in the app.

CAUTION!

When factory calibrated, the engine will start by itself and the rear wheel will begin to turn. It is important that you lift the rear wheel during the entire process to avoid damage or injury.
Generation 2 models
  1. Position the left crank arm so that it is horizontal to the ground and facing forward.
  2. Switch off your e-bike – Hold the button pressed until the display shows the off symbol.
  3. Position your bike so that the rear wheel hangs freely in the air and can be turned.
  4. Connect to the Ampler app.
  5. Once our customer service has enabled the function, you will see the option in the app under “Settings”. Start the factory calibration as described.
  6. The display shows the calibration symbol.
  7. The e-bike is now calibrating the torque and motor sensors. In addition, the motor starts to rotate the rear wheel.
  8. The e-bike restarts automatically. Check if the motor support is working normally and let us know the outcome.
Generation 1 models

  2. Switch off your e-bike. (LED switched off on the power button)
  3. Position your bike so that the rear wheel hangs freely in the air and can be turned.
  4. Connect to the Ampler app.
  5. Once our customer service has enabled the function, you will see the option in the app under “Settings”. Start the factory calibration as described.
  6. The LED should now start flashing orange, while the e-bike calibrates the torque and motor sensors. In addition, the motor starts to drive the rear wheel. As soon as the motor stops, the LED starts flashing green and the system switches off.
  7. Check whether the engine support is working normally and let us know the outcome.

If the calibration process has failed and the LED is flashing red, check the motor cable. It should be solidly plugged in and the arrows should be pointing towards each other.
Generation 2 models (from 2022): Note that the motor cable has a threaded connection that must be loosened additionally.
